The outside temperature in Eilat is warm all year-round. Rarely does it rain, creating an agreeable climate and approximately 360 days of summer. Water sports are very popular as the temperature of the sea water consistently remains between 70-75 degrees Fahrenheit. Fun sports to try include: snorkeling alongside colorful fish, diving, swimming with dolphins, boating, surfing, and waterskiing.
Located along the sea, is an esplanade facing beautiful red colored mountains. This boardwalk connects many of the hotels and resorts to restaurants, cafes and bars. In addition to food, the promenade contains multiple shops which sell jewelry, souvenirs and clothing.
With its beautiful panoramic views of the Negev Desert, Eilat is also a great place to enjoy nature and hiking. There are numerous trails catering to all levels of trekkers. Because of Eilat’s location on the southernmost tip of Israel, on a clear day it is possible to stand in the same place and see: Jordan, Egypt, and in the far distance Saudi Arabia.
