You will meet our guide outside the reception hall of the port of Haifa, from where we will head to Akko. On the short drive to Akko your tour guide will inform you about Israel’s rich history.
Our tour begins in the old port city of Acre (Akko). This Arab Jewish mixed city holds many secrets and stories both above and under its cobblestone streets. This was once the capital of the Crusaders and their last stronghold, and later taken over by the Ottoman Empire as one of their most lavish cities with beautifully erected monuments and buildings.
Our first visit will be to the Knights Hall where we will walk through its corridors and small alleyways and make our way back to the old port. We will then visit the Akko prison, where Jews of the underground movement were imprisoned. Exodus, starring Paul Newman, is a portrayal of a famous escape from this prison.
Next we drive to Tzfat (Safed), one of the four Holy Sites for the Jewish people, which rose after the fall of Jerusalem in 70 AC. We will visit the World Kabbalah Center and walk around the city seeing its many synagogues and art galleries.
While in Tzfat, we will have the option to have lunch at a local restaurant.
On our way back to the port, we will stop by the *Baha’i Gardens and Temples, where you will have a magnificent panoramic view of Haifa.
