Mount of Olives in depth Private Tour

Highlights
  • Walk in the footsteps of Jesus during the final week of his life
  • Visit some of the most beautiful churches in Jerusalem
  • Enjoy the most beautiful viewpoint over Jerusalem
Description
Today you will discover the Mount of Olives, the most ancient cemetery in continuous use in the world, and home to holy sites for all three of the Abrahamic faiths. Your day will begin at the Chapel of the Ascension and the Pater Noster Church. Your guide will help you understand the biblical and archaeological contexts of these important sites, from where Jesus is believed to have ascended to heaven, and where he is believed to have taught the Lord’s Prayer for the first time respectively.

You will continue to Jerusalem’s most spectacular viewpoint, from where you will descend the mountain, via the Tombs of the Prophets (Hagai, Zechariah and Malachi) and the Dominus Flevit Church, arriving at the Garden of Gethsemane; here you will explore the ancient olive tree grove and the beautiful Church of all Nations

The final stop is at the site traditionally associated with the Tomb of Mary, Jesus’s mother. You will hear how she was assumed to heaven, and understand the ancient traditions associated with the site.

As this is a private tour the itinerary can be adjusted to suit your preferences.
