Description
Just over 100 years ago, Tel Aviv was just a series of sand dunes. Today you will discover the visionaries whose crazy dreams made this city rise out of the sand to become the most vibrant city in the region. You will hear their stories, understand their visions and evaluate their success!

The tour begins in the little known beauty spot of the American Colony. Hear about the first people to leave the walls of the Old City of Jaffa. A short walk will take you to the German Colony of Valhalla where you will hear about the next intrepid adventurers to arrive in the area. You will then visit the beautiful neighbourhood of Neve Tzedek. Here about the first Jewish neighbourhood of Jaffa and discover its modern secrets – fancy boutiques and delicious ice cream!

Continuing north, it is time to arrive in the area where Tel Aviv was founded. You will visit the Museum of Tel Aviv in the Shalom Tower, and hear about how these pioneers envisaged their city, and understand how it was developed. Descending to Rothschild Blvd, you will visit Independence Hall, and hear about David Ben-Gurion’s vision to declare a Jewish state. Continuing down Rothschild, you will hear about the different visions of architecture – the eclectic and international (Bauhaus) styles, and learn how to identify the different types of buildings.

Your tour will conclude at the top of Rothschild where you will discover the cultural vision of the first Hebrew city, and hear how Tel Aviv remains a city of visionaries even to this day.

As this is a private tour the itinerary can be adjusted to suit your preferences.
