Day 1: Tel Aviv/Jerusalem

Tuesday / Overnight: Jerusalem

Welcome to Israel!

Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport. After Passport Control, a representative will be waiting for you at Baggage Claim. Once you’ve collected all of your luggage, we will drive you to your hotel in Jerusalem.

Free Time

There are no planned activities for the rest of the day. Use this time to sleep off jet lag, call home or start exploring!

Day 2: Jerusalem

Wednesday / Overnight: Jerusalem

Mount of Olives

Take in the spectacular view of the old city from this mountain.

Mount Zion and King David’s Tomb

Enter the room of the Last Supper. Visit the building believed to be the resting place of the man who composed the Book of Psalms and established Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Old City Jewish Quarter

Journey through thousands of years of history. Walk along the Cardo, the ancient roman road, visit the four synagogues restored in 1967 after Jerusalem was reunified. See the Hurva Synagogue, the largest temple in the Old City.

The Kotel (The Western Wall)

Take some time to visit the holiest site for the Jewish People. Visitors from all around the world come to pray here through words and notes places into the stones of the wall.

Church of the Holy Sepulchre

Walk along the Via Dolorosa, in the footsteps of Jesus. End at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre where the Crucifixion occurred.

Bethlehem

Drive via Rachel’s Tomb. Visit the birthplace of Jesus inside the Church of the Nativity. Walk around Manger Square where thousands of worshippers gather each year at Christmas.

Day 3: Jerusalem

Thursday / Overnight: Jerusalem

Israel Museum

The world-famous Israel Museum displays numerous permanent and temporary exhibits on art, history, anthropology and archaeology from Israel and the world. See the scale model of the Second Temple as well as the Shrine of the Book, where the Dead Sea Scrolls are kept.

The Knesset

Learn how laws are made here in Israel’s parliament building, set on a beautiful hilltop overlooking Jerusalem. Outside, there is a famous menorah statue; the symbol of the State of Israel.

Mount Herzl

Mount Herzl is Israel’s national military cemetery, named after Theodor Herzl, the father of political Zionism, who is also buried here. The cemetery contains the graves of soldiers who have fallen in the line of duty, as well of leaders of the nation, including Golda Meir and Yitzhak Rabin.

Yad Vashem

Yad Vashem is dedicated to preserving the history and memory of the Holocaust. The compound includes a museum, memorials, a research center and archives.

Mea Shearim

Mea Shearim is a neighborhood where many ultra-orthodox Jews live. This is a unique opportunity to learn about religious Jewish society.

Evening Activity

Enjoy a traditional Middle Eastern dinner followed by the Tower of David “Sound and Light show” (weather conditions permitting).

Day 4: The South and Jerusalem

Friday / Overnight: Tel Aviv

Qumran

See the caves which hid the Dead Sea Scrolls until archaeologist discovered them in 1947. The 800 plus scrolls are believed to be remains from the oldest bible in the world, written between 200 BC and 68 CE.

Masada

Ride via cable car to the top of Masada and see the remains of Herod’s palace and the last bastion of the Jewish Revolt against the Romans. The ancient cisterns, baths and mosaics are well preserved.

Dead Sea

At a private beach, cover yourself with mud thought to have therapeutic qualities, shower off, feel refreshed and float in the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth. We will drive back to Jerusalem in order to prepare for Shabbat. There are no scheduled activities until Sunday.

Day 5: Tel Aviv

Saturday / Overnight: Tel Aviv

Free Day

This “city that never sleeps” sleeps in only one day a week: Saturday. Sleep in yourself or enjoy the quiet of a Tel Aviv Saturday morning. You can also enjoy all that this Secular party city has to offer – beaches, parks, restaurants, cafes, and more. Shabbat Shalom!

Day 6: The Northern Coast

Sunday / Overnight: Kibbutz Lavi

Caesarea

Wander through the ancient buildings dating back the 3rd century BC. See stunning archaeological ruins including Roman aqueducts and an amphitheater.

Megiddo

Megiddo is identified with Armageddon, the scene of the battle of the End of Days according to Revelation 16:14-21. The archaeological excavations include an extremely well preserved water system dating back to the Bronze Age (1500-1200 BCE).

Daliat el Carmel

Daliat el Carmel is a Druze village built into the slopes of Mount Carmel. The Druze are an ethnic minority who follow a secretive religion; the majority of knowledge bestowed only upon the elders. Druze are known for their unique traditions and hospitality. Enjoy a late lunch at a local restaurant.

Haifa

Visit Israel’s third largest city, built on the beautiful Mount Carmel. See the world famous Baha’i Gardens and Shrine of the Báb. Learn about Illegal immigration under the British Mandate and Israeli naval history at the National Maritime Museum.

Day 7: The Galilee

Monday / Overnight: Kibbutz Lavi

Safed

Safed is the center of Kabbala (Jewish Mysticism) in Israel. Walk through the old city and along the cobblestone paths. Visit the city’s most important synagogues: the Joseph Caro and the Ha’Ari synagogues.

Golan Heights Army Base

Visit a former army base used by the Syrian forces during the Six-Day War. Take in breathtaking views and explore the unique history of the Golan Heights.

Kuneitra

Lookout into the no man’s land between Israel and Syria.

Golan Winery

Located in the relatively new town of Katzrin, enjoy a tour and wine tasting at the Golan Winery.

Kessem Hagolan

Experience a multimedia presentation about northern Israel and its history.

Day 8: The Galilee

Tuesday / Overnight: Jerusalem

Church of Annunciation

Visit the Church of Annunciation in the city of Nazareth. The church is built on top of an underground spring. According to the Eastern Orthodox tradition, this is the location where the Virgin Mary was drawing water during the moment of the Annunciation.

Capernaum

Visit the Hasmonean fishing village on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee. It was here where archaeologists discovered two ancient synagogues built on top of each other. Here is also the location of the octagonal church of Saint Peter.

The Mount of Beatitudes

This mountain is believed to be the location where Jesus delivered the famous Sermon on the Mount.

Beit Shean

Visit Israel’s largest archeological park, at the ancient city of Beit Shean. Explore the remains of what was once a Hellenistic, and later Byzantine city. Walk through ancient streets, shrines, and an amphitheater.

Beit Alpha

See the Byzantine era synagogue famous for its beautiful and unique mosaic. The mosaic, remarkably well-kept, depicts Jerusalem’s Temple, the Binding of Isaac, and the Zodiac.

Day 9: Ben Gurion Airport
